Discrepancy Reporting
Whenever reporting a discrepancy on an ATON, PATON or
Bridge, remember that there are always two reports that need
to be made:
-
Discrepancy Reports for the Coast Guard - This report informs
the gold side about the problem with the aid so they can get it
fixed. It does not record your time in AuxData, so see item #2
below on how to do that. The discrepancy report will either use
an on-line system (PATON and Bridge reports0, or use one of
the forms in the Report Forms
section below. Critical discrepancies should also be called into
the nearest Station by landline or radio.
-
AuxData Reporting - always submit a 7030 Mission Activity
Report (Unit/Individual) to report the time expended, and the
number of aids that were observed discrepant or watching
properly. This is the report that gets you AuxData credit for
the work, but since AuxData is an Auxiliary system, it
doesn't tell the gold side about any problems with the aid - see
#1 above.
For each
discrepancy reported to the gold side, only one member takes
credit on the 7030 (i.e., do not list multiple members on the
7030 (Unit/Individual) report, and do not submit multiple 7030s for the same
discrepancy).
Do not report this NS work on the patrol's 7030 (Boat)! The
patrol's 7030 gets the entire crew credit for their underway
time. Your separate 7030 (Unit/Individual) gives you the
credit for your NS report.

directly to the ADSO-NS to expedite the processing. The ADSO-NS
